Before making a full transition into a legal career, Amy has been practising migration law since 2015 as a registered migration agent. Throughout this period, she successfully represented numerous clients in various application processes, including visa applications, skills assessments, state nominations, family and business sponsorships and nominations. She also managed appeals at various venues, with the Administrative Appeals Tribunal being the primary one for clients who received unfavourable outcomes in their applications.

About the Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Commercial Lawyer with litigation experience to join our team. You will manage a diverse commercial law caseload, represent clients in complex legal matters, mentoring junior and graduate lawyers and contribute to the continued success and growth of the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a broad caseload of commercial matters including dispute resolution across various sectors.
• Provide strategic legal advice and risk management support to clients.
• Draft legal documentation including agreement and deeds, brief, pleadings, affidavits, and court submissions.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Mentor junior lawyers and foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.

What You’ll Need:
• Minimum 3 years’ post-admission experience in commercial law.
• Having experience in commercial litigation.

Our placement position provides law students and graduates with the opportunity to apply the theory and skills they learned in a professional workplace. The placement spans either full-time for 4 months or part-time for 6 months, providing flexibility to plan and schedule your Practical Legal Training (PLT). Good performers may be given an offer
